About Ruvin Bros.
Ruvin Bros. Artisans & Trades was founded in 1989 by Richard and Robert Ruvin with a vision of blending fine craftsmanship with exceptional service. Tony Enea, now president and sole shareholder, joined the firm in 1992 as one of its earliest hires. By 1994, he became a partner, and in 1996, he was named president and one-third owner. In 2004, Tony acquired the remaining shares, becoming the sole stockholder while continuing to lead the company.
Over the years, Ruvin Bros. has grown from a trusted builder into a full-service design-build firm, offering architecture and construction expertise. Since 2023, through our sister company, Black Mulberry Interiors, we have provided comprehensive interior design services. Many of our talented team members have been with us for decades, reflecting a culture built on dedication, collaboration, and care.

Design-Build

Simply put, “design-build” is an approach where the designer and constructor are the same entity. This has several important advantages for both the customer and the contractor. The first is single-source liability. With design-build, there cannot be any finger-pointing between the architect, the engineer, and the contractor. The design-build contractor is solely responsible for all aspects of the project. Another significant advantage for customers is cost control.
With traditional project delivery, all drawings, engineering, and approvals are complete before costs are established. When the budget exceeds what was agreed upon, expensive and time-consuming redrawing and rebidding become necessary, delaying the project’s start and eventual completion date. With design-build, architectural plans do not even begin until a firm budget has been established and agreed upon.
Finally, likely the most important advantage is that of efficiency. Using the design-build process, projects can be completed faster, with fewer misunderstandings, and generally at a lower cost.
